The Kickstart Scheme will fund the creation of high quality jobs for young people at the highest risk of long-term unemployment. Giving young people the chance to build their confidence and skills in the workplace, and to gain experience that will improve their chances of going on to find long-term, sustainable work.
How does it work?
Companies who take part in the scheme will have to prove that the jobs they are making available to applicants are new and are not replacing any already existing jobs. The scheme is designed to provide young people (aged 16-24 years old) with a high quality employment, including training and/or job search support, to boost their job prospects.
The government will cover the cost of 25 hours’ work a week at the National Minimum Wage, giving employers the option to top up those payments.
How to apply?
If you are applying for 30 or more job placements, you can apply directly: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-a-grant-through-the-kickstart-scheme
If you are applying for less than 30 job placements, you can find someone to apply for you. They can submit an application on your behalf, using other employers to create 30 or more job placements in one application.
