Zest Education are on the lookout for keen and driven graduates to work in schools as cover supervisors in the Shropshire areas, this includes, but isn’t limited to; Newport, Shrewsbury, Telford and Market Drayton.

Many of our graduates have gone on to complete their teacher training after working as cover supervisors in our schools, this is a great way to gain experience and decide which pathway is right for you.

The Role: Graduate Cover Supervisor

A successful Cover supervisor will work with our secondary schools delivering pre planned lessons to groups of students ages 11- 18.

Any work will be pre-planned by the class teacher or another within the school. As a cover supervisor you will deliver this to the students whilst managing their behaviour and providing feedback to any relevant members of staff.

To be successful in this role we look for a graduate who has at least 20 days or more of experience working with children and or young people. This is a great way to start your career into teaching.

This experience can come in a variety of different forms:

  • Scout group leading
  • Football coaching
  • Sports coaching
  • Volunteering
  • Placements
  • Work experience
  • Dance teachers

Zest Education are an REC audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
