Graduate Controls Associate

Type: Graduate
Region: London

You wouldn’t drive a car without testing that your seatbelt is secure, you wouldn’t jump out of a plane before testing your equipment works, and you wouldn’t wear a pair of shoes without testing they fit you first. Seems simple when you think about it right? But these simple tests provide us the security we need to be able to go about our day-to-day life.

So, you may be wondering what we are trying to get at here.

Well, we are looking for someone to check our seatbelts, parachutes, and shoes (not quite literally) in a business wide sense. This is where you come in.

Weatherbys Bank are looking for a Graduate Controls Associate to help test our systems and processes to ensure they do exactly what they are meant to do, in terms of meeting our business needs and satisfying regulatory expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has recently left university and looking to start their career within Financial Services or Operational Quality. We are not asking you to join us as an expert; your drive and determination to succeed during your time with us is what is important to us. All we ask if that you show willingness to learn.

Day to day you will:

– Conduct both customer outcome testing and risk and control assurance testing, documenting your discoveries as you go.

– Provide regular feedback to the business owners on these tests, including key themes and areas of focus, as well as agreeing action plans where necessary.

– Maintain up to date knowledge of regulatory expectations and the Bank’s Operational Risk and Conduct Risk frameworks.

– Ensure all our processes and procedures are watertight, even if part of a process is somehow bypassed, or if there is a system failure.

What is in it for you?

You will join a newly formed, growing team where you will be given the opportunity to start a career within a company that has over 250 years of history. Your team will support your development and aspirations, helping you embed yourself into the world of financial services. We understand the importance of work/life balance, and therefore offer a hybrid working arrangement, with 25 days annual leave, plus your bank holidays off, as well as the option to purchase more.

Salary will be up to £28,000 per annum, and you will have access to a variety of other benefits including private healthcare, a workplace pension scheme, and a range of discounts and reward through our partnership programme.
