The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented individual to join the Mapping team based at our Newcastle upon Tyne office. You will be resourceful, creative and capable of working under your own initiative as part of multi disciplinary teams delivering projects to a wide variety of clients. The work will be partly office based but will also require regular site work throughout the UK for up to a week at a time. You must hold a full UK driving licence and be familiar with Ordnance Survey and other sources of online mapping. You will be either studying for a degree or hold a degree in Surveying/Geomatics. In this role, you will undertake the following: 

  • Pipeline surveys/GIS data collection;
  • Data processing using ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD & LSS software;
  • Assist with topographical surveys using Trimble Total Stations and GNSS;
  • Preparation of drawings and 3D models;
  • Maintaining and promoting high quality client & public relationships;

The successful candidate will be seeking to develop their career in mapping & consultancy. We would expect candidates to have:

 Essential skills

  • A full clean UK driving licence;
  • An adaptable and flexible approach to work, to meet demands at peak times;
  • The ability to work outdoors over difficult terrain, UK wide;
  • Use of Microsoft Office products, especially competence with Excel;
  • A positive, adaptable and challenge ready personality.
  • Candidates must be fully qualified and available to start Monday 2nd September.

Desirable skills

  • ESRI ArcGIS Pro
  • QGIS
  • AutoCAD
  • LSS
  • Pix4D
  • Experience with RD8000 radio detection device.
  • Experience with Trimble survey hardware
  • CSCS card
  • SHEA Gas Passport
  • SCO 1 & 2

The team also operate a number of drones and the right individual will have the opportunity to get involved with this service.
