Apprenticeship Programme

During this programme, we’ll help you develop your practical and behavioural skills and support you in gaining the technical and professional knowledge required for you to succeed in your career. As well as this, you’ll also gain the Level 3 Transport qualification.

With many of our colleagues starting as apprentices, you’ll receive full support and guidance from everyone throughout.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have received industry-standard training and attained qualifications that will enable you to progress and reach your full potential.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensure that safety concerns, near misses and accidents are logged on AVA in a timely manner, ensuring that the issue is addressed and relevant feedback is provided to the originator

  • Assist the Service Manager to identify routing efficiencies and capacity, to improve and enhance Net Revenue and productivity.

  • Effective container stock level control.

  • Effective driver communication and engagement

  • Ensure all allocated vehicles are routed effectively and meet productivity targets as set by the Service and Business Manager.

  • Ensure driver compliance through effective debrief process, specifically Tachographs, WTD and weights.

What are we looking for?

  • Maths and English GCSE’s or equivalent

  • Full UK driving License (Desirable)

  • Good planning and organisational skills.

  • Transport planning experience is preferred.

  • IOSH Preferred but not essential.
