The University will pay a supplement per annum pro ratato spine point 10with effect from 24 October 2023, to align with the Real Living Wage (RLW) which equates to 22,464 p.a. This RLW supplement will be reviewed annually to take account of future increases and RLW rates.

There is an expectation that work will be undertaken in the UK.

This role is not eligible for sponsorship. Applicants require to have existing right to work in the UK.

The Post

As part of the wider University of Stirling Enterprise Team, based within Scotlands International Environment Centre (SIEC), the Internwill make a substantial contribution to the development, delivery, and promotion of the Enterprise Programmes 2024/25 activities and services by providing highly effective and proactive activity support. The post holder will encourage and support Forth Valley College students and eligible community members in Clackmannanshire and Stirling to build enterprise skills, and explore and engage in green entrepreneurial activity. They will champion a can-do spirit and serve as ambassadors for SIEC and the Enterprise Programme across campuses and within the broader community.

Description of Duties

  • Manage daily priorities and activities to support overall Enterprise Programme workflow
  • Contribute to the planning of the Enterprise Programmes activities
  • Organise and facilitate virtual and in-person events, such as workshops, webinars, in-class presentations, competitions, etc
  • Organise materials for use at virtual and in-person events (such as registration forms, session handouts, information sheets, competition forms, etc.)
  • Plan and deliver virtual and in-person promotional activities (such as presenting at lectures, representing the Enterprise Programme at University of Stirling Be Connected events, and developing promotional materials)
  • Develop and maintain the Programme’s social media presence to raise awareness and support engagement (particularly via Twitter and LinkedIn)
  • Monitor and record participant engagement across the Programmes activities
  • Undertake such other duties as may be required, commensurate with the grade and nature of the role

Essential Criteria

  • A currently enrolled student or a graduate within 12-months of degree completion from the University of Stirling or Forth Valley College
  • Positive, creative, flexible, and professional approach
  • Excellent understanding of, and commitment to, partnership working
  • Skills and experience in events organisation and delivery
  • Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and as part of a very busy team
  • IT literate with particular competence utilising MS Teams and MS Office
  • High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently and work effectively with a diverse range of students, alumni, academic and professional service colleagues, as well as external stakeholders
  • A sound understanding of, and experience utilising, social media platforms for promotional purposes; particularly Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Attention to detail

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of start-up activity/entrepreneurship, particularly in a university and/or college context
  • Knowledge of subject areas such asbusiness management, law, marketing, media, communications, or social enterprise
  • Work/voluntary experience in a role which improves the student experience (for example Student Ambassador, society committee member, etc.)
  • Confident public speaker and comfortable engaging with a variety of audiences
