Role overview

We are looking for a 1st line technical support person working in a tech support role.

We are offering the successful candidate a chance to work with our IT team on the firms internal technical support function whilst gaining valuable on the job training in a variety of different IT technologies, servers and disciplines.

As you develop, the role will require the ability to deal with incoming issues and to think on your feet quickly to remedy simple issues whilst also being able to keep an eye on the more complex problems, escalating them, if necessary, to 2nd line support.

The department is relatively small; therefore, with time and experience, it is hoped that 2nd line support knowledge will develop and the role may potentially become a 1st/2nd line support position.

Job description

Duties will include:

1st line support, dealing with all incoming helpdesk problems

Responsible for escalating problems you cannot fix on your own

Consumable ordering/stock management

Assisting with Mimecast content checking

Troubleshooting basic printer problems

Setting up IT equipment in meeting rooms

Setting up online webinar sessions

Rebuilding desktops and laptops with hardware and software including OS

Setting up computers, laptops, printers, telephones, and other desk based hardware

IT Inductions for new starters

Regular visits to our Nottingham office for onsite support

Liaising with our clients in relation portal access issues

Assisting with manual tasks such as lifting the firms equipment

Working arrangements

The working week: 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday) to be worked from 09:30-17:30 with flexibility of hours to meet specific work demands.

Location: Your principle work base is our London Office.
