Actuarial Graduate Programme 2025

Type: Graduate
Region: London

The Actuarial Graduate Programme 2025 is now open for applications! This graduate entry training scheme is an 18-month fixed-term contract. It involves rotating through the Actuarial & Analytics (A&A) department’s sub-teams, including Pricing & Analytics, Capital Modelling, and Reserving. Upon completing the training scheme and meeting performance expectations, you will qualify for a permanent role within the A&A department.

Over the course of the scheme, you will

  • Contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of actuarial models and analyses produced by the A&A department.
  • Gain an understanding of how actuarial models and analyses can assist with decision-making and monitoring business performance.
  • Develop the foundational skills necessary for a career as an actuarial specialist.
  • Take ownership of your professional development, e.g. study for the IFoA exams (for which support will be provided).

How will you contribute to each of the A&A sub-teams?

  • You will help the capital modelling team update and maintain TMK’s internal capital model. The internal capital model helps determine how much capital TMK should hold to withstand losses from various events, such as major natural disasters.
  • You will help the pricing team design and create analytical models and conduct analyses to help estimate customer premiums.
  • You will help the reserving team with reserving exercises. Reserving exercises are used to calculate how much money needs to be set aside for future claims.
  • You will help the A&A department develop their portfolio analytics capabilities. This involves helping to design models and conducting analyses to aid TMK in optimizing their portfolio for improved capital efficiency, profitability, and reduced volatility.

What we are looking for

  • You have a growth mindset. Professionals with a growth mindset are curious, continuously learn, and embrace technical challenges as an opportunity for personal development.
  • You can work in a productive manner. Productivity is the efficient and effective use of time, resources, and effort to accomplish tasks and goals.
  • You can collaborate with team members. Collaboration means working with team members effectively to deliver solutions.
  • Excellence. Excellence is the unwavering pursuit of exceptional quality and performance.

Technical Requirements

You are enrolled in (or hold) a BSc or MSc program in a numerical or STEM-related field, and / or can demonstrate your technical aptitude through other means (for example, relevant work experience or blog writing).
