Description:
The Trainee Information System (TIS) Data Analyst role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary, agile development team. The TIS Team develops and supports digital products and services aimed at supporting and improving Post-graduate Medical and Dental Education (PMDE) including the working lives of doctors and dentists in training as well as its supporting roles and systems. The TIS team is currently split into two product teams. This role will work closely with the administrator focussed product team, developing products, services and solutions for those who administer workforce, training and education programmes as well as its wider stakeholders.
This role will be a key member of the team. You will work closely with the other members of the TIS Team from different disciplines, ranging from full-stack developers to business analysts and user researchers. You will also work closely with wider business areas and a network of data leads developing specialist expertise and knowledge of PMDE related data in the process. The multi-disciplinary nature of the team along with its remit will provide the successful applicant the unique opportunity to, with their product team, fully explore the problem space to create well-rounded solutions and help to bring those solutions into fruition.
TIS is a national team and although we have two “hubs” in London and Manchester, you can base yourself from any NHS England office across the country subject to approval.
Specifically, you will:
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary product team in an agile environment to continually improve, develop and iterate TIS services.
• Apply tools and techniques for data analysis and data visualisation, including the use of business information tools e.g., Tableau and SQL.
• Identify, collect, and migrate data to and from a range of systems.
• Manage, clean, abstract, and aggregate data alongside a range of analytical studies on that data.
• Manipulate and link different data sets.
• Summarise and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate formatfor users.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

You will be highly numerate and an experienced analyst familiar with using a variety of analytical, statistical, and reporting tools and techniques. You will be an excellent communicator, and confident in working with users, and be committed to quality and continuous improvement.
Along with your colleagues you will work to make a success of our approach to developing products, data collections and using the National Data Warehouse to meet the needs of all our users.
