We are delighted to launch our Season 2024/25 Internship Programme, aiming to develop and prepare individuals for a future career in football. There are five places available in the cohort, with each Intern assigned to a department for an 11-month period where you will learn and develop your skillset across that function. The departments for candidates to apply to are: Policy & Corporate Affairs, Commercial, Finance, Football Development and Football Operations. Your department will depend on your current skillset and interests, which we will explore with you at application and interview stage.

Department work for, with and on behalf of our clubs to deliver a world-class youth development system via the delivery of four key functions: Games Programme, Education, Coaching and Elite Performance. More recently, the team have launched the Elite Referee Development Plan (ERDP). Each of these different strands work together to help develop the best players, coaches, match officials and staff for the Premier League and wider football pyramid.

The Role:

As a Football Development Intern, you’ll be:

Supporting the Games Programme team on identified projects for U9 welcome festival (e.g. first team player video; coordination of mascot and activity areas)

Supporting logistics for more than 7500 games per season (U9-U21) including liaising with teams and processing team sheets

Supporting the creation of our monthly Games Programme bulletin, which promotes relevant activity (U9-U21) for the forthcoming 4 weeks and celebrates achievement from the preceding period

Engaging in stakeholder liaison including supporting our match monitor allocation process (including introduction of pre-academy activity)

Supporting the Education and Academy Player Care team, including planning, engagement, delivery, and impact assessment of our programmes

Able to live / work in the UK with no restrictions and can commit to all aspects of the programme, including being able to work in London

The Package:

Annual salary of £26,000

70/20/10 learning structure where 70% of learning is done on the job, 20% from coaching and mentoring, and 10% from formal training

Hybrid-working model offers you the flexibility to work from home on some days each week
