The Company

One of the leading manufacturers of architectural metal and glazing solutions for the UK Market is looking to take on a Junior Estimator. They have been in the industry for over 30 years and have created a business that supplies to projects and clients all over the UK and with other smaller companies in international markets.

They design, test, and manufacture their products off site and ship them to projects for easy high-quality installations to meet client deadlines perfectly, with some of their own innovations and patents added to a long list of achievements already made by them. With more to come!

Responsibilities

Calculation of the costings of projects to enable the sales team to win and deliver projects on time and in budget.

Responsible for budgeting, creating schedules of rates and approximating build costs.

Attending pre-budget meetings and site visits to help with setting costs.

Responsible for liaising with the sales team on any new and upcoming projects to that they are scheduled in advance to optimize best costing practices.

Reporting concerns that may impact projected costs and time estimates.

Oversee handover from bid to execution with other teams and stakeholders in business.

Provide and manage all relevant documentation including quotes, presentations, information and data, all within GDPR and corporate governance.

Ideal Candidate

Degree in construction management, engineering, estimating or similar is preferred

Prior experience in architectural metals or glass will be a huge benefit

Extremely detailed and a great record keeper

Commercial awareness

Ability to adapt and deal with changes through the project life cycle

Knowledge of construction methods
