The Detail:

Tekmar Energy are excited to add 3 Graduate Engineer roles to the Engineering team ahead of a period of change and growth., focusing on both mechanical design engineering and analysis engineering.

As Graduate Engineer you will be required to carry out a wide range of engineering design and analysis activities, taking products from concept through to sales and ultimately project delivery. You will be involved in optimising designs through fundamental design, mechanical and thermal simulation of components and systems, prototyping and physical testing and on-site and subcontract manufacturing processes. The role also contributes towards the continuous improvement of design techniques, and involves working with software tools such as Autodesk, OrcaFlex and Ansys.

This role requires an ambitious and motivated individual looking to gain a range of engineering experience and to progress within our Company. The role requires good interpersonal and communication skills and a keen interest in all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of the role will include, but not be limited to the following:

To learn, develop and progress within Tekmar under guidance of the Engineering Team, underpinned by the determination and self-drive to learn new skills.

Take ownership of product design and delivery functions from carrying out initial feasibility studies, right through to final product testing.

Generate models, drawings and design documentation to support the manufacture and supply of components for the Subsea Industry.

Compile technical documents to support the development, sales, project, and manufacturing phases.

Design component test methods and rigs and support the Test Team in design verification testing.

Work closely with the Production Team to ensure efficient and cost-effective production of the product.

Actively contribute to Project and Client Meetings.

Prepare analysis input data – liaising with the Engineering Team to ensure the most appropriate data is available and utilised.

Build analysis models.

Run simulations and interpret results.

Suggest engineering solutions to analytical challenges.

Engage in wider continuous improvement activities throughout the organisation.

Knowledge and experience

3D CAD skills, preferably Autodesk and Inventor.

Capability of producing/checking engineering calculations by hand and with common software such as Excel and Mathcad.

Exposure to using design FEA analysis tools such as ANSYS or similar

Possess a good understanding of engineering principles, such as mechanics, materials, and manufacturing to deliver engineering design solutions.

Able to identify and work with colleagues to develop innovative proposals for new work. Progress to take ownership of design, analysis, manufacturing, testing and involvement in continuous improvements.

Knowledge/experience of the industry is an advantage, but not essential.

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Experience with Orcaflex (not essential)
