Teaching Personnel is seeking dynamic and motivated Graduate Cover Supervisors to join an Ofsted-rated good secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position starts immediately and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of education during teacher absences by supervising classes and ensuring that students remain engaged and on task with their learning activities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Classroom Management:

Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.

Ensure a positive learning environment where students are focused and engaged in their assigned tasks.

Manage student behaviour in line with the school’s policies, promoting positive behaviour and addressing any issues promptly and effectively.

Lesson Delivery:

Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials provided by the absent teacher or department.

Provide clear instructions to students and support them in understanding and completing the tasks set.

Answer students’ questions and provide assistance where necessary, ensuring they stay on track with their learning.

Support and Supervision:

Maintain a calm and orderly classroom environment, fostering a positive and productive atmosphere.

Monitor student progress during lessons and provide feedback to the regular class teacher on student performance and behaviour.

Support individual students who may need extra help or encouragement to complete their work.

Professional Development:

Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school and Teaching Personnel.

Stay up-to-date with best practices in classroom management and student engagement.

Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Collaboration:

Work closely with teaching staff and other cover supervisors to ensure smooth transitions during teacher absences.

Communicate effectively with colleagues to share information about student progress and any issues that arise during lessons.

Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the wider school community as needed.

Requirements:

A degree in any discipline.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.

A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the school environment.

Previous experience working with young people in an educational or support setting is desirable but not essential.

A genuine interest in education and a commitment to supporting student learning and development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
