Trainee Manufacturing Engineer/Engineer’s Mate | Carterton | Full Time | £20,000 and £25,400

You will assist in the manufacturing of premium aluminium gates and the implementation of gate automation systems alongside qualified engineers. This role offers potential room for growth for the right candidate.

Our client specialises in the manufacture and installation of premium aluminium gates and residential and commercial automation systems. They design, build, install, and maintain electric gates, entry systems, bollards, barriers, and other automation products. They pride themselves on the quality of their work and the satisfaction of their customers.

While specific industry experience is not required, our client is seeking a practical, reliable team player with a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and the ability to think logically.

The successful candidate must be physically fit and willing to perform physical work.

What will your role look like?

Working as part of a team to produce premium aluminium gates and bespoke automation solutions

Welding preparation and jigging

Various metalworks, including grinding, drilling, tapping, screwing, filing, cutting, routing, linishing, and polishing

General light carpentry

Reading drawings and calculating aluminium cut lists from drawings

Dry fitting and assembly

Spray painting and associated preparation works

Running and labelling cables

Steel and wood surface weather treatments

Trenching and digging

Fitting posts and hanging gates

Manual labour and general civil work

Making good on all types of outdoor ground surfaces (gravel, tarmac, etc.)

Lifting heavy items and packaging/preparing gates for delivery

Light CNC machine work

Following manufacturing processes

Delivering a high level of customer service to all clients

Working on construction sites and client premises, both residential and commercial

Exposure to circuitry and wiring, welding, component installation, and configuration
