About the role:

As an apprentice at Lyan Packaging, you’ll have the unique opportunity to gain invaluable and varied experience as you will be exposed to different departments and functions, allowing you to gain a comprehensive understanding of how our business operates.

The business and administration support apprentice will ensure they build strong relationships internally and externally as they learn, maintain and improve business processes. During your work and studies, you will be supported by knowledgeable and friendly colleagues who will ensure you are able to put your academic learning into practical use.

We focus heavily on personal development, wellbeing and engagement and a part of this role will be to support the directors in organising team events and charity fundraising days. We expect all colleagues to live our values and work towards our mission, the apprentice role will be an integral part of this commitment.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the organisation of the shared sales inbox

Handling incoming calls, taking messages, and passing to the relevant individual.

Providing ad hoc support and requests for the leadership team e.g meeting minute taking, following up on actions

Providing ad hoc support to the Operations Director

General housekeeping

Sales and purchase order processing

Key customer support

Accounts admin support

Support the directors with wellbeing and engagement initiatives

Key Skills:

Friendly and approachable; a good ability to build relationships with all stakeholders

Proficiency in computer programs, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Word

A desire to support all areas of the business and learn cross functions

Ability to work well in a team as well as independently

Excellent telephone skills

Flexible in your approach to learning to new skills, processes and job roles

Confident to seek advise from colleagues and an excellent communicator.

GCSE’s in Maths and English, equivalent to a C or above.
