What is the role?

Have you recently graduated and would like to progress your career in graphic design? South Ayrshire Council’s Communications team want to hear from you!

We’re looking for a Graphic Design Graduate Intern to join our busy Communications team for 23 months.

Working under the direction of our Design Officer, you’ll gain experience and work on a wide and varied range of graphic design projects, with a specific focus on print media (page layout) and animated video content.

Using Adobe Creative Suite as your go-to design application, you’ll create modern, engaging, audience focussed graphic designs that promote the work of, and enhance the profile and reputation of the Council.

The Grade of this post in year 1 is Grade 1 / Level 3; the hourly rate is from £12.81 to £12.96 and the annual salary is from £23,378 to £23,652.

The grade of this post in year 2 is Grade 2 / Level 5; the hourly rate is from £13.76 to £14.85 and the annual salary is from £25,112 to £27,101.

Level 3 – Working under the direction of Co-ordinator – Corporate Communications, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to design and branding across a range of projects. You will work with us to develop and create engaging design and branding to support internal and external communications

Level 5 – Under the direction of the Co-ordinator – Corporate Communications, work as part of a team and autonomously in developing and delivering a range of corporate design and branding projects.

This post is temporary for 23 months.

The successful candidates will work from a designated office location.
