The Electrical System Engineering Intern will work with a team of power electronics engineers within the HVDC unit of GE Vernova to ensure that the business can deliver and change to meet the demands of the grid and renewable energy market. Role overview

Based at the HVDC Centre of Excellence in Stafford, UK, the role gives an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to innovate, expand their technical skills and develop personally within an internationally recognised company in the renewables and grid sectors. The successful candidate will be part of a cohort of interns working within a 12-month development plan that allows them to stretch outside of their core academic background that prepares them for successful careers.

Responsibilities:

Circuit simulation for design and testing

Specification of key power electronics components

Create design documents

Undertake technical reviews of new technology

Perform validation design-proving tests

Work with the power electronics supply chain

The Person:

The successful candidate will ideally have completed 2 years of degree level study in a related field such as Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience and be predicted to obtain at least a 2:1 at Bachelors level, or equivalent knowledge or experience.

Needs to be eligible to work in the UK. No Visa support will be provided.
