The Junior Sous Chef is a key role. They will work alongside the Head Chef and Sous Chef and are responsible for ensuring that standards are maintained in the kitchen. It is a crucial part of the position to keep food to the best possible standards whilst meeting all Food Safety standards.

As the Junior Sous Chef your responsibilities will include:

– To maintain consistent quality and quantity control in all aspects, from portion control to freshness of the food presented

– To support the Sous and Head Chef with the ordering of fresh food and management of supplier relationships

– To be support with training and development of the team to ensure everyone is utilised to the best of their potential

– To understand and comply with food hygiene regulations and HACCP, as well as COSSH trained.

You will report to the Head and Sous Chef and will work closely together to ensure the kitchen team are thriving and the menu offered reflects the demand and style of the guests.

Experience required:

– Have previous experience in a quality fresh food restaurant

– Creative and able to create a fresh food menu.

– Are passionate and enthusiastic about the industry and keen to progress

– Have experience as a Chef de Partie or junior sous working with fresh food and ingredients

– Have great communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
