Our Technology Audit team at RSM works as an integrated part of an audit team to provide an opinion on companys financial statements. RSMs audit purpose is to build confidence in the financial statements of the businesses we audit, so shareholders, owners and other stakeholders of the businesses can use that information in decision making, such as investments.

RSM fulfil an important role in society of building trust, and confidence, in business. Within that, our Technology Audit teams purpose is to demystify the ever more complex technologies that clients use in the operation of their business. In essence to ensure we do a high-quality audit having understood the technology in use and how to audit it properly.

As part of the team, youll be using your ability to understand the technology a client uses and how it supports their business. Youll be assessing what can go wrong, and how it might impact the business. Then by assessing what is relevant for the financial statement audit, you will test the clients controls as a crucial part of RSMs audit procedures and report findings within our team and to the client.

About the role

At RSM, youll be a key member of our team from day one. This is an exciting, hands-on role, as you will be joining a small (currently a team of 10), but fast-growing team. You will be a key member from day one, and the role will offer you plenty of opportunities to develop and progress in your career, whilst enjoying a broad range of clients and industries to engage with.

The depth of services and clients youll be exposed to will help you kick-start your career. You could be working with a wide variety of organisations, including large, listed companies, national retail chains, and high-profile charities, as well as some of our international clients that operate throughout the UK and beyond.

RSMs graduate in Technology Audit will give you access to top quality career development. Alongside hands-on experience, youll benefit from on-the-job training from more senior members of the team and gain access to our internal training courses that will help you develop in the role. With our support, youll become a true trusted adviser to your clients in the future.

When you join this team, youll work towards the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification.

What we look for

Were on the lookout for enthusiastic self-starters who are always up for a challenge. Technology Audit is a technically demanding discipline, so we look for students who are quick to grasp new subjects. Its important you also have an interest in technology, good communication skills and great attention to detail.

Youll often need to explain technology risks and their impact on financial operations to non-technology specialists, so youll need excellent written and verbal communication skills. What separates us from our competitors is the IT and financial acumen we demonstrate and we expect that right from the start from our people.

Our Recruitment Process

Please note, for those who perform well throughout our assessment process, should your first preference be unavailable, you could potentially be offered a role in another location or department. This would always be discussed with you in this instance.

RSM will only take one application into consideration per intake. We do not accept multiple applications to different vacancies.

Entry requirements

At RSM, we don’t just look for good exam results. We think passion, personality and originality are just as important.

You will need:

  • 112 UCAS (new tariff) across 3 A Levels or an equivalent level 3 qualification or 104 UCAS (new tariff) across 4 Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers. Please note, RSM does not accept General Studies, AS levels or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
  • A predicted or obtained honours degree.
  • UCAS changed their points system so under the old tariff it would be 280 or 260 points respectively.
