Our objective in ABA is to be the first-choice provider of accounting, financial reporting and outsourcing services to middle market leaders, globally. Our services span bookkeeping, management accounting, financial reporting and advisory services. Our teams work closely with our clients to optimise their finance functions, giving our clients the confidence and the time to make decisions to support their business strategy and processes.

The work we carry out is tailored to the specific needs of the client, so no two days are the same. Our accounting and business advisory team provide tailored accounting solutions to support our clients business strategy and day to day operations. Our financial reporting specialists help our clients understand and navigate the ever-changing financial reporting landscape and identify possible opportunities and risks. Our outsourced business services team act as an extension of our clients’ finance function both in the UK and globally – helping to increase efficiency and manage resources, enabling our clients to focus on their business priorities.

Working within the ABA digital and innovation technical team

As an analyst within the ABA Digital and Innovation Technical Team you will be responsible for increasing adoption of analytics and automation tools in ABA – both for internal use and external clients. You will be a key resource for ABA, advising on potential solutions, participating in client meetings and developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions, as well as helping embed a ‘digital first’ culture within RSM. You will be a champion and advocate for all of our analytics tools, supporting licence holders nationally with their own solutions and working collaboratively with them to ensure successful project deliveries.

The ABA Digital and Innovation team is a remote team spread across all of the UK that embraces flexible working. This presents both challenge and opportunity. At our core we are critical-thinkers, problem-solvers and visionaries.

Our focus is on advising our clients and ABA team’s on how to navigate the path of available technologies, to help them deliver real improvements with a practical and pragmatic approach to digital projects. We also understand that technology is not a silver bullet, that our clients and teams need to embrace the wider business, cultural and people changes that will allow them to adopt new ways of working.

What can you expect?

RSM’s early digital careers programme offers a range of informal and formal development opportunities. From day one, you will join with trainees across the firm to receive core training in professional and soft skills. Alongside this you will benefit from specific technology skills training focussed on our digital and data services, for example Agile project delivery, as well as learning how to use our core tools, including Alteryx and Power BI. Study towards an accounting / finance qualification will commence after your first year with the team.

Following your basic enablement[NW3] , you’ll join ABA colleagues in delivering live client engagements, to understand their ways of working and the specialist tools, alongside learning and applying skills in analytics and automation tools. The parallel training reflects the requirement of the role to have a blend of skills covering both traditional ABA work and the digital tools and solutions. After this training year, you will embed fully within the ABA Digital and Innovation Technical Team. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced members of the team and understand how digital and data projects are delivered. This hands-on experience is invaluable as you take the next steps in your career.
