Junior Data Analyst 2024

RPS are looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join our Leakage Team based in Swansea, to work on our Dwr Cymru Welsh Water contract.

You will collaborate with Acoustic Loggers and Leakage Engineers to identify leaks within the network infrastructure. Leveraging the data collected by our logging technicians, your responsibility will be to meticulously analyse the alerted recordings, pinpointing the precise locations of leaks.

Subsequently, you will compile comprehensive reports for the Leakage Engineers, facilitating their efforts in locating and rectifying the identified leaks within the network. Previous experience in the water industry is not a necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided.

What you’ll be doing

  • Interpret and analyse various leakage monitoring systems, monitoring the status of each asset via web-based software.
  • Prepare District Metered Area (DMA) and Localised Central Area (LCA) packs to assist field resources to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Liaise with Delivery Team on a regular basis to ensure effective use of field resource in respect of various leakage monitoring systems.
  • Participate and present data in meetings with the Delivery Team and Client.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Area Contract Supervisor to comply with our Integrated Management System requirements.
  • Assist the Regional Project Manager and Area Contract Supervisors in the identification of opportunities for change and continuous improvement and integration of the leakage monitoring systems.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of Leakage Event responses.

Who we’re looking for?

  • A junior Data Analyst or a recent graduate looking for their first role.
  • Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft 360 Suite and Work Management Systems and applications.
  • Excellent at integration of data.
  • A strong Customer Service ethos.
  • Able to work to targets and deadlines.
  • Clear and fluent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • A working knowledge of working within Utilities and Water Distribution is advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own transport
  • Flexibility to work additional days, when requested.
  • Able to work 40hrs a week between the hours of 7:30 and 15:30 at the Carmarthen Office.
