Overview of role

This is a generalist Junior HR Advisor role, supporting the southern region of our UK business, and our growing RLB Europe business line. The purpose of the role is:

  • To support the delivery of the HR service through excellent customer services.
  • To provide strong operational support in a full HR generalist capacity.
  • To advise, coach and support your client group on people policies and procedures.
  • To support the HR Administrators and the wider team to implement HR best practice.

Key responsibilities

Commerciality

  • Demonstrate a commercial understanding of the areas you support, and the role HR plays in this.
  • Use your knowledge and experience to operationally support managers to achieve their team and business goals by coaching managers through their people needs.

Resourcing & Induction

  • In conjunction with the Recruitment team, manage the Europe and UK onboarding process to ensure the processes are as efficient as possible.
  • Advise managers on the onboarding & payroll processes, including timelines, reward packages, tax exemptions, visa requirements and benefits.
  • Assist with the production of European onboarding paperwork and electronic files.
  • Advise the HR Administration team on onboarding, using best practice to close out all onboarding issues.
  • Support the induction experience for new starters by presenting the HR induction sessions.
  • Support the HR Advisor to ensure all employees complete their probation period timely and provide advice and guidance where there are performance issues.

Employee Relations

  • Advise employees and managers on policies, procedures, and timescales.
  • Support managers with appropriate letters and documentation by processing paperwork in a confidential and timely manner.
  • Ensure confidential paperwork and emails are saved and kept up to date in employee files.
  • Maintain the regional employee relations tracker, ensuring information is up-to-date and closed when needed.

HR Projects and Procedures

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the HRIS, and work with the HR Analyst to ensure accuracy of data and reporting.
  • Attend employee centred meetings i.e., maternity/ paternity interviews, medical disclosures, occupational health & long-term sick, ensuring all relevant processes are completed.
  • Ensure that absence management procedures are followed with consistency across regions.
  • Conduct exit interviews, support the appraisal process and assist with contractual changes.
  • Provide guidance to the HR Administrators on key processes and work with them to continuously look at ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
  • Assist the Senior HR Managers within the HR team with the annual salary review process.
  • Work with the HR Analyst to ensure high quality of data and accuracy of data reporting.

RLB Europe Work

  • Build positive working relationships with our European alliances to ensure the effective processes of employee contracts visa’s/permits and payroll.
  • Develop an understanding of European Employment Law.
  • Support the UK Payroll Manager and European payroll providers to ensure the accurate delivery of payroll and additional payments.

Knowledge, skills & experience required

  • An HR professional with experience of HRIS.
  • Experience of working with a European team, with knowledge of European HR practices, desirable.
  • Able to deliver HR excellence and continuous improvement to drive business growth.
  • Ability to work effectively with others, helping and supporting members of their immediate team.
  • Positive and self-aware of the impact their behaviour has on others and modifies it accordingly.
  • Commercial awareness so understands the impact actions have on commercial results, desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates employment law knowledge.
