Role overview: We are looking for a talented Junior Software Developer to join our Defence and Security team. In this role, you will develop and maintain applications that meet our customers’ needs. You will work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with a dynamic team, and contribute to software solutions that support national security. This is a Bristol-based role which will involve hybrid working and occasional traveling to our clients’ sites. Responsibilities: Coding and Debugging: Write and maintain code, troubleshoot software issues, and fix bugs Testing and Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, conduct tests to ensure code quality, and contribute to quality assurance activities Collaboration: Work closely with senior developers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional code Documentation: Ensure that all code is well-documented and maintain documentation for existing systems and processes Learning and Development: Continuously improve coding skills, stay updated with industry trends, and be proactive in learning new technologies and tools Database Management: Create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, and stored procedures Security Measures: Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with security standards About you: Educational Background: Degree (min 2.1) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Programming Languages: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript Database Knowledge: Some understanding of relational database design and some experience with one or more of SQL, PL/SQL or T-SQL languages Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Communication: Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, following instructions and contributing to group projects Eligibility: Must be eligible for UK Security Check clearance Reply is an Equal Opportunities Employer and committed to embracing diversity in the workplace.
