We are seeking a Junior Project/Design Engineer responsible for managing all phases of assigned projects across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. This role involves creating 3D CAD models, technical drawings, engineering calculations, and report preparation. You will manage the full life cycle of design projects from conception to finished production product, working closely with team members and other departments. The diversity of projects guarantees a stimulating and challenging work environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Design and develop cost-effective solutions on a project-by-project basis.
  • Perform engineering calculations and cost estimates to prove design concepts.
  • Optimize designs to suit available manufacturing processes and implement new techniques as necessary.
  • Carry out cost reduction exercises through redesigning components or sub-assemblies.
  • Integrate combinations of existing product ranges with proprietary sub-systems to produce complete vehicles.
  • Create CAD models and all necessary engineering drawings.
  • Produce bills of materials for sub-assemblies and complete vehicles.
  • Produce hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
  • Maintain all necessary project documentation.
  • Conduct physical testing to prove design concepts.
  • Create technical documentation such as technical manuals.
  • Develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) and manage tasks to meet set objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree with a minimum 2:1 in a similar or related field of study.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, welding, and sheet metal manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with 3D design software, ideally Creo.
  • Awareness of new and future manufacturing techniques.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong personal motivation.
