Real Chemistry is looking for a Junior Medical Writer to join our growing team in Edinburgh!

Embark on a fulfilling journey as a Junior Medical Writer at our leading med comms agency. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a team of accomplished professionals, providing extensive training and mentoring to hone your skills in scientific and medical writing. You’ll support our Global Medical Communications team in the execution of diverse medical communication projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality content aligned with client objectives and industry standards.

Through this role, you will develop the ability to adapt content and style to meet specific client needs, while staying abreast of the latest developments in a variety of therapeutic areas.

What you’ll do:

A graduate or postgraduate degree in a life sciences, medical, or other scientific discipline is essential

A Master’s or PhD in a scientific field, or equivalent work experience, is highly desirable

A flair for writing, and demonstrated strong communication skills in interpersonal interactions

Ability to analyse, discuss and debate a variety of scientific topics

Excellent attention to detail and superior organisational abilities

A basic understanding of the clinical development process for new medicines and drug approval process

Proficiency with MS Office and proficient at reviewing multiple information sources

Able to quickly learn new skills and quickly adjust to new scenarios

Able to work collaboratively as a team to achieve a shared goal

What you should have:

Support Global Medical Communications team members in delivering of medical communication projects

Quickly learn new therapeutic areas and apply this knowledge effectively across projects

Engage in rigorous research, including literature and competitive information review, to support project work

Contribute to the creation of a variety of materials (e.g., medical training slide decks, scripts, webinars), tailoring your writing style to different audiences

Uphold strict quality control processes, encompassing accurate referencing, data verification, and meticulous proofreading

Liaise confidently with other team members and clients, providing prompt and appropriate responses with the support of more experienced team members

Exhibit strong organizational and analytical skills

Participate actively in project briefings, ensuring a clear understanding of timelines, deadlines, and project requirements

Effectively prioritise your workload in collaboration with your team leaders, identifying potential project hurdles and proposing viable solutions

Act as an integral member of project teams
