Prospero Teaching is recruiting enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Crosby, Liverpool. This role is perfect for Sports Coaching graduates looking to gain experience in education, with a particular focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support.

This full-time position offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your sports coaching skills to engage students, promote physical development, and encourage positive behaviour through structured activities.

Role Overview:

Location: Crosby, Liverpool

Position: Teaching Assistant (ideal for Sports Coaching graduates)

Type of Work: Full-time, Long-term

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 8:30 am 3:30 pm (Monday to Friday)

Contract Type: Temporary with potential for permanent placement

Pay: GBP95+ per day, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Support students both in and out of the classroom, utilising sports coaching techniques to encourage engagement and participation.

Assist class teachers in delivering lessons and helping with behaviour management, particularly for students with SEN and SEMH.

Lead and organise structured physical activities, fostering teamwork, leadership, and confidence among students.

Work closely with school staff to implement strategies for improving student behaviour and overall well-being through sport.

Occasionally help with group and 1:1 pastoral support, drawing on your experience in sports to encourage positive social interaction.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

Sports Coaching degree or similar qualification is ideal.

Previous experience working with children or young adults in a sports or educational setting is preferred.

Strong knowledge of how physical activity can support emotional and social development.

Passionate about promoting health, fitness, and teamwork in a school environment.

Requirements:

Right to work in the UK.

Must hold or be willing to process an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service.

Able to provide two professional child-related references.
