Prospero Teaching is offering a fantastic opportunity for sports coaching graduates to work as a Teaching Assistant in a school based in Cheadle (SK8). This full-time, long-term role is perfect for those eager to work with children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, using sports as a tool for development and engagement.

Position Details:
Location: Cheadle, Stockport (SK8)
Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant (ideal for Sports Coaching graduates)
Type of Work: Full-time, Long-term (temp-to-permanent)
Start Date: Immediate start
Hours: 8:30 am 3:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract Type: Temporary leading to permanent (after a qualifying period)
Pay: GBP95+ per day, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Use your sports coaching background to engage students in physical activities that enhance teamwork, self-confidence, and social skills.
Support the class teacher by helping to manage student behaviour and promoting positive interactions during lessons and activities.
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN and SEMH, encouraging them to develop both academically and socially.
Lead structured physical activities and help integrate sports into the daily routine to motivate and inspire students.
Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
A Sports Coaching degree or similar qualification is preferred.
Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a sports or coaching role, is advantageous.
A good understanding of how physical activity can promote mental health, teamwork, and positive behaviour.
Safeguarding training is beneficial but can be provided as part of the role.
Candidate Requirements:
Right to work in the UK.
Must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate, registered with the online update service.
Two professional references, including one child-related, will be required.
