Prospero Teaching is looking to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Crosby, Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for Psychology graduates looking to gain valuable experience in education, particularly within Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support.

This full-time position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s development and looking to build a career in educational psychology or child development.

Role Overview:

Location: Crosby, Liverpool

Position: Teaching Assistant (ideal for Psychology graduates)

Type of Work: Full-time, Long-term

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 8:30 am 3:30 pm (Monday to Friday)

Contract Type: Temporary with potential for permanent placement

Pay: GBP95+ per day, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.

Assist class teachers in implementing tailored learning strategies for students, particularly those with SEN, SEMH, and Learning Difficulties.

Use your psychological knowledge to support students’ well-being and promote a positive learning environment.

Help students overcome challenges in their learning, behaviour, and personal growth, working closely with teaching staff and SEN coordinators.

Occasionally assist with behaviour management and pastoral care, using insights from your psychology studies.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

Psychology degree or similar is ideal but not essential.

Previous experience working with children or young adults in any capacity (volunteering, tutoring, mentoring) is preferred.

Knowledge or interest in SEN, SEMH, or child development is highly desirable.

Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to support children with varying educational needs.

Requirements:

Right to work in the UK.

Hold or be willing to process an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service.

Able to provide two professional child-related references.
