BMW UK, National Sales Company, Farnborough – Product Management Assistant – 13 Month Placement (July 2025)
The Product Management team is responsible for ensuring that current and future BMW models are optimised for the UK market to deliver against our sales objectives. This involves defining the market opportunity, volume objectives, determining specification, options and pricing for the UK and Ireland. Through close cooperation with other areas of the marketing function we also ensure that vehicle launches are supported by comprehensive communication activities across a mix of channels. We’re now recruiting for two passionate, driven, confident and commercially minded individuals to join our team for a 13-month placement.
What awaits you?
- You will provide a core support function to the Product Management team, managing key operational elements including the management and coordination of the internal pre-series fleet, review and maintenance of product reference materials and coordination of all internal and external enquiries to ensure prompt and accurate resolution.
- Undertake detailed competitor analysis for each model to highlight our relative strengths and weaknesses in the market and support our Product Managers with their decision-making regarding the specification and pricing of future vehicles.
- Manage a fleet of 20+ cars including showroom and external displays and facilitate the viewing and evaluation of new models prior to launch by key stakeholders. Vehicle preparation is key to ensure our high standards are met, as well as ensuring that the technical status of our fleet vehicles is continuously monitored and updated.
- Educate the wider business about new models, via ‘New Product Previews’, creating awareness and excitement prior to launch. Attend customer-facing events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed and PGA Wentworth, as product specialists.
- Maintenance of Product Libraries, a key reference tool for our sales colleagues, to ensure that all standard and optional model features are accurately detailed and priced.
- System testing: Support the wider team with testing of our internal sales systems for model changes prior to go-live.
Qualifications and Experience
- Studying towards Bachelor’s degree and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in Business Studies, Marketing or a related field.
- Genuine interest and enthusiasm for cars and the automotive industry; strong BMW product knowledge is desirable.
- Strong relationship building skills and a professional level of customer service.
- An excellent team player who possesses solid interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Excellent communicator in both oral and written settings.
- Analytical and lateral thinker with strong commercial acumen and outstanding attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence preferable.
