We are looking for a passionate, motivated, organised and enthusiastic Early Years Manager to manage our busy nursery setting in Nantwich. We need someone who will jump into the opportunity to lead a well established team of great practitioners, deliver a high standard of service to our children and families and support the meeting of business aims and targets. The nursery manager will have responsibility for effectively running the large setting and will benefit from the support of our Head of Nursery Operations and also partnership working with our additional setting. Job Purpose: To be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the nursery by ensuring adherence to Statutory Frameworks and relevant legislation.
Main Duties;
1. To promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to parents, staff and visitors
2. To lead a team of professional workers and to ensure good practice at all times in line with Company policies and procedures.
3. To plan and organise staffing schedules and holiday rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with regulations and to include yourself in ratio when required.
4. To be aware of and act in accordance with current legislation, good practice, nursery policies and procedures
5. To adhere to, and support all senior team members to understand and follow, the legal requirements of the Statutory Framework and Early Years Foundation Stage
6. To be responsible for all nursery staff, to include their conduct, appearance and professionalism.
7. Supervising and supporting all members of the nursery team in their day-today duties including induction, appraisals and supervisions and where necessary individual reviews.
8. To be responsible for any complaints or grievances from parents, to deal with these, promptly, thoroughly and effectively, chairing a meeting with them where necessary, escalating to Head of Nursery Operations where required.
9. Ensuring that all staff have an up-to-date enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Supporting all team members to work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
10. Support partnership with parents by organising regular open days, stay n play’s, seasonal events such as graduations, Christmas plays, Spring fairs etc
11. Take lead role on the day of Ofsted Inspection and inform Ofsted of notable incidents
12. Ordering consumables, food, milk etc
13. Production of relevant and informative termly newsletters
14. To be responsible for the forecasted numbers of each room. Being aware of when individual children are due to move into the next age appropriate room and ensure FAMLY is up to date.
15. To be responsible for all planning, tracking, and development of all children, ensuring key workers across all rooms are compliant and effective in the development of their key children. Embedding the curriculum and Roundabouts ethos throughout the setting.
16. Being responsible for all administrative duties associated with the management of the facility, e.g. maintaining records on the children and their families, keeping personnel records, inputting of FEEE data and tracking.
17. Co-ordinating with appropriate agencies regarding trainee placements and supervising accordingly
18. Co-ordinating and chairing staff meetings as appropriate, including agendas and minutes Establishing and maintaining effective communications links with other agencies
19. To be responsible for the overall health and safety standards within the nursery and ensuring staff compliance and awareness, including training where appropriate
20. To oversee that the agreed high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
21. To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds or medical history
22. To provide all team members with the support and resources required for the early identification and intervention for children with possible special needs
23. To report back to the Head of Nursery Operations as required with information relating to finance, quality of the provision and anything else deemed necessary
24. To work within deadlines and support the achievement of business aims and targets
25. Designated Safeguarding Lead. Including ensuring all documents are kept up to date and attending relevant meetings.
26. To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be
Person Specification
·Full and Relevant Early Years Level 3 or above, with GCSE maths to a grade C or above, or functional skills level 2 Maths.
· Recent experience in effective management of an early years setting
· Ability to lead and motivate a successful team
· Ability to plan and organise own workload
· Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Ofsted registration requirements and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Hours of Work: 36-40 hours between the hours of 7am-6pm, Mon-Fri (can be 4 or 5 days)
