What does the role involve?

As Graduate – Application Support Engineer, you will join our Applications team within Group IT. During the two-year programme, you’ll gain entry into the wider IT team, being full immersed in a range of disciplines helping to give you a flavour of all things IT.

Part of your role will be spent with the 2nd line application support team working as part of a service desk, before transitioning to support our Applications-focused teams aligned to our various business units. You’ll have a pivotal part to play in liaising between our internal service management and our IT delivery teams to monitor, troubleshoot and diagnose live incidents, so you’ll certainly have plenty of opportunities to develop yourself as a professional, and potential leader.

Our office is based in Leeds but we’re passionate about hybrid working, attendance at the Leeds office is a minimum of 2 days per month.

Some of your key duties will include

  • Building knowledge of working within technical,application support and operational teams
  • Providing 2nd/3rd line support by owning, investigating and resolving incidents assigned to the team, working with Service Desk ticketing systems e.g. ServiceNow, ZenDesk
  • Learning how to monitor, log and interpret metrics in order to effectively identify and diagnose the root cause of incidents
  • Support with transforming business requirements into living workflows and systems

You’ll have recently graduated and achieved a 2:2 or above in your chosen degree.
