The Staff Development Department is looking for an enthusiastic, confident and engaging apprentice to join their team.

As an Apprentice Administrator, you will be a member of the Apprenticeships and Early Careers Team within the Staff Development Department at North Bristol NHS Trust, based at Southmead Hospital’s Learning & Research Centre.

Depending on your prior qualification you will either enrol on the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner or Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship, delivered by NBT in-house Apprenticeship Centre.

The apprenticeship is designed as follows:

? 15-18 month training and support to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to gain either the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner or Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship qualification

? Monthly classroom lessons at the workplace in purpose built learning and research centre. Assignments, skills assessments and 1:1 support with a dedicated tutor/assessor

? Workplace mentor to support you to put your learning into practice

? End Point Assessment delivered by Innovate Awarding

? Learn a set of highly transferable skills and behaviours

Please note to be eligible for the apprenticeship you must be:

? Over the age of 16

? Have lived in the UK/EEA for the past 3 years

? Have the right to work and reside in the UK

? Hold GCSE Maths and English at a minimum of Grade E/2

The ideal candidate would be flexible, confident and have great communication skills. They should be able to use/be willing to train to use the hospital’s patient administration systems.

Good customer service skills are a must, as well as being empathetic towards the patients and visitors in the hospital.

We are looking for someone with drive and enthusiasm to join our friendly and supportive team.

You must willing to enrol on an apprenticeship and be dedicated to completing this while being supported by the Staff Development Administration Team.

The role requires working collaboratively and co-cooperatively with others to help develop a workforce with the skills, knowledge and competence necessary to deliver safe effective patient care and to enhance the quality of service delivery within North Bristol NHS Trust.

This role will also support the Trust corporate induction, which may include speaking to large groups of new staff members and supporting new entrants to the Trust ensuring they have a positive experience on their first day and supporting all staff to feel welcome.

You will work alongside a team of administrators and education colleagues within the department providing an efficient and high standard of administrative service to the Department Manager and Trainers to meet the training needs of the Trust.

Main Responsibilities

? Communicate daily, via the telephone, face-to-face, and using electronic methods, with staff of all levels both internal and external.

? Record and monitor course bookings and attendance on Learner Management System (LMS)

? Support administrative process regarding evaluations of all courses run.

? Support data entry onto the vocational database.

? Support the Trust induction team, providing administrative support

? Supporting welcoming new applicants to the Trust during Induction

? Promote equality at all times to all individuals by practising anti-discriminatory behaviour, privacy and confidentiality in accordance with Trust policies

? Maintain a safe and secure working environment for self, internal and external visitors

? Provide contacts with course information in order to meet the training needs of the service users, via paper based training manuals and by forwarding information electronically.

· Prioritise and organise own workload in order to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of own and department workflow

· Use initiative and manage own workload independently, only referring to Line Manager or Training Colleagues when difficulties are encountered.

· Photocopying: monitor and maintain stock levels. Respond to requests from Training Administrators and Trainers observing the relevant instructions provided on how this should be completed and by when.

· Assist training administrators and teachers with their work as required, by responding to ad hoc requests.

· Undertake invigilation of Functional Skills and other exams to comply with awarding body regulations, on a rotational basis

· Attend and contribute to team meetings.
