Memnon is part of the ES Media Group, a specialist supplier of end-to-end services for the professional broadcast and production industries, encompassing broadcast equipment sales and rental, broadcast systems integration, production equipment rental and media services.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This is an entry level position that involves the encoding and transcoding of various tape and file-based media formats to defined platform specifications. Additionally, it deals with the processing of associated technical and descriptive metadata and the preparation of delivery packages and quality checks. The role involves working with the projects team on a wide variety of workflows to achieve a high-quality product to agreed timescales and targets. Full onsite training will be provided.

DUTIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Working with the operations team to:

Digitise various video and audio tape formats using industry standard software products via automated workflows

Produce file deliverables against various broadcast and VOD platform specifications

Quality checking to ensure asset correctness to specifications and quality levels; escalating issues where necessary.

File management and housekeeping of source and deliverable files

Assisting the senior operational staff with testing and development of new workflows

Working with the Quality Control team on various QC projects

SKILLS REQUIRED

Someone with very strong IT skills, a candidate that is willing to receive industry leading training on a wide selection of media services disciplines. Ideally with a relevant qualification in an associated area. A degree of technical understanding of television production processes would be an advantage.

Knowledge of digital media technology would be an advantage but not essential

Excellent communication skills.

Excellent eye sight and hearing.

High levels of accuracy and attention to detail with an ability to maintain excellent working standards under pressure.

Educated to a GCSE standard or above, ideally with a production/technical qualification.

Well organised with an appreciation for the importance of file naming and file management working practises

IT literate – a basic understanding of Production network IT would be an advantage.

A professional and positive attitude, with a flexible can-do approach is essential.
