Salary £24,000

Holiday 22 Day plus national and bank holiday.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Write press releases (trade and consumer), newsflashes, product pieces and comment/ quotes

Confidently pitch press releases and feature ideas to different sections of the media, adapting and adjusting

Writing style and content for the media outlet type e.g. broadcast vs lifestyle pitch

Pull together and maintain media and influencer lists for clients and the overall agency, demonstrating knowledge of the media landscape as well as the client’s target demographic and audience

Develop and maintain relationships with key media

Attend client events, press launches, industry conferences and talks.

Maintain a good understanding of the daily news agenda by subscribing to and reading industry newsletters and content, frequently reading magazines, newspapers and lifestyle websites

Proactively take on admin tasks in internal and external meetings, such as writing and circulating notes and actions where appropriate

Monitor media coverage across clients and report using internal coverage logs and Coverage Book, ensuring these are always organised and up to date

Maintain Mance Communications’ social media accounts, creating and scheduling great looking and relevant posts and brainstorming ideas

Ensure all press features are migrated digitally into Dropbox and Coverage Book

Complete roundups of weekly trends and hot new openings

Manage office supplies e.g. stationary, paper etc

KEY SKILLS

Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate professionally

Strong copywriting with attention to detail when it comes to spelling, grammar and proof-reading and creative flair for producing engaging copy

Confident in presenting and communicating ideas to the wider team and media, organising information in a thought-through and succinct manner Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate professionally

Brilliant interpersonal skills whether over the phone, in person or via email. PR is all about people, so you need to be approachable, friendly and empathetic and be able to relate to people on different levels within the agency, client portfolio and media

Ability to work to tight media deadlines, meeting the demands and pressures of the team and working quickly and efficiently, without compromising on quality
