Job Summary The Junior HR Business Partner (JHRBP) partners closely with business leaders and line managers to proactively drive the business priorities in their respective area. The JHRBP builds leadership capabilities to deliver the people plan and drives the talent agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Builds trusted relationships with leaders across the business areas and within the HR team
  • Provides coaching and guidance to leaders and act as sounding board
  • Developing talent: Understanding the vision and strategy for talent, be a key partner for leaders and apply influencing skills to drive the talent agenda within the business area
  • Aligns with Centre’s of expertise to provide HR solutions to the business
  • Drives performance management to increase individual and business performance
  • Has a solid knowledge of employment law and HR procedures to make sure the business is compliant and to keep the business safe and legal
  • Balancing priorities and project work with the emerging and immediate needs of the business in line with strategy
  • Has an ability and curiosity to scope complex tasks and project work and drive execution of the task and/or project work through to completion
  • Working with leaders to establish high-performing teams
  • Be an advocate and role model the Leadership Competencies and Cultural Factors
  • Managing change to enable continual transformation for an optimal organisation; from organisational design to implementation and embedding changes within the function

Desired Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience ideally gained from within a fast-paced retail (or similar) organisation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, with exacting timelines and where high levels of accuracy are paramount
  • Proven track record of working effectively with multiple level stakeholders requiring an autonomous, decision-making approach
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Take full responsibility and ownership for their actions; hands-on and can-do attitude
  • Think broadly and consider all implications of actions across the business function
  • Use coaching style to challenge their partners to think differently and seek new perspectives and move beyond obstacles
  • Are valued for their approach to look for possibilities, seek opportunities and drive execution
  • Demonstrate high levels of resilience and emotional intelligence
  • Excellent influencing, relationship building and communication skills
  • Proven change leadership ability – creating meaning for others, and being comfortable in proposing innovative and transformative approaches to problem solving
  • Demonstrable experience of working in teams to achieve a common goal
  • Well-developed IT skills with experience of using an HR Information System (eg Oracle, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Solid understanding of employment law practices
  • Enthusiastic and positive energy
  • Highly professional and can flex style and adjust to different audiences
  • Prioritising own workload and self-efficient, results oriented
  • The ability to take initiative and work without supervision is essential
