The team provides full product lifecycle support including prototype design & build, development and integration of the build documentation and supporting requirements of production build. As part of the Operations Engineering team, the Manufacturing Engineer is the recognised point of contact for all matters related to their area of expertise, providing engineering advice, problem solving and co-ordination of activities in support of current and future business. The Manufacturing Engineer will drive a proactive approach to right first time quality to promote growth, will enhance the reputation of the business through exceptional quality standards and contribute towards a significant reduction in overall manufacturing costs.The Manufacturing Engineer will:Develop manufacturing processes within any of the following technologies:Composite Bonding and integrationAssemblyDefine sequence of operations, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing and material handling taking into account flow and lean philosophies.

  • Provide Basis of Estimates for engineering activities and shop floor operations across a range of technologies and disciplines.
  • Create Manufacturing BOM’s / routings to aid ease of manufacture.
  • Support and contribute to the relevant section of the Technology Roadmap to identify improvements to current manufacturing processes and future requirements.
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing technologies and processes.

An independent thinker, able to take an assertive stance to enforce the key requirements of quality and the customer.Demonstrate a level of manufacturing process industry experience with CNC machining, Composite or Assembly.An understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances) with the ability to identify key characteristics and datum structures.Familiarity with the use of CAD software to generate 2D technical drawings would be beneficial.Experience of preparing operational documentation and manufacturing data-packs.Detailed understanding of the fundamentals of MRP and experience in the maintenance of Manufacturing BOM’s and routings and controlling factors within SAP (or similar ERP software).Awareness of DFM/A and PFMEA principles and the use of them in a practical application to support Industrial Engineering activity.Familiarity with the use of CAD software to generate 2D technical drawings.Problem solving experience (8D, A3, Root Cause Analysis etc.).Building relationshipsPlanning for resultsBachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to our culture and reflect our values of doing what’s right, respecting others and performing with excellence.
