The Centre is British Horse Society Approved & Pony Club Centre teaching riders of all ages and abilities. We specialise in training and preparation for College NVQ Diplomas, BHS, GCSE, Horse Owners, Progressive Riding Tests examinations, and The Riding Disabled. Welfare and education are our by-words.

  • For the right candidate, there will be the possibility of full-time standard employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship

General duties for the apprentice to include (but not be limited to):

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Paddock maintenance
  • Schooling
  • Riding available
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
  • You will be working towards the Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship
  • All training will be done at the employers premises with the employer and supported by Haddon Training
  • If you have not achieved grade 4/C or above in maths and English already, Haddon Training will support you to complete Functional Skills in these qualifications at Level 2 (equivalent to grade 4 GCSE)

You will be working 5 days out of 7, and must expect to work at least one weekend day per week. Final shifts to be agreed with the successful candidate.
