Train to become a skilled Machine Operator to join our team and contribute to the success of our operations. Full training will be given..

  • Operate and maintain various timber processing machinery such as CNC, Framing Machines, saws, planers and routers ensuring efficient and accurate production.
  • Set up machines according to product specifications including adjusting cutting blades, feed rates and other parameters.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect any malfunctions or deviations from standards and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machines to ensure proper functioning, cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating and replacing worn-out parts to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Collaborate with other team members to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Inspect finished timber products for quality including dimensions, smoothness and accuracy then make adjustments as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Report any issues, concerns or improvements related to machinery, processes or safety to the supervisor.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience as a Machine Operator or Production would be beneficial.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work within specified tolerances.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy timber materials.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and knowledge of relevant safety procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Punctuality and reliability to meet production deadlines.
  • Methodical approach when problem solving.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Good time management.

Desirable Skills

  • Can use a computer.
  • Can multitask.

The Employer is: LOUGHVIEW TIMBER IRELANDAlthough this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.Salary: 16/17yrs £5.28, 18/20yrs £7.49, 21/22yrs £10.18, 23/24yrs £10.42 per hour
