The Role

The Operations team at Javelin manages the reconciliation, confirmation and settlement of commodity products within Javelin. Working with the Logistics team and traders, Operations ensure that risk is captured accurately, and the full lifecycle of the trade is supported effectively.

As the business continues to expand and grow, we are looking for two new analyst level candidates to join the team in 2024. You will work either in the Settlements team or Documentation team. Dynamic and always challenging, these roles will complement the responsibilities of the other team members and work as part of the team to achieve the Operation Group’s objectives, and play a vital role in post-trade execution and moving the company forward towards our goals.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Trade Settlement and Invoicing process for physical and financial commodities
  • Drafting physical and financial commodities
  • Maintenance of Confirm reporting database
  • Liaising with Trading/Logistics team to resolve queries and discrepancies
  • Monitoring and updating settlements systems and daily reporting
  • Ongoing management of Financing transactions
  • Reconciling OTC and Exchange Traded positions
  • Documenting processes and procedures
  • We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive candidate ideally with some experience in Commodities Operations (e.g. an internship or analyst position).
  • Degree in a STEM or Business-related field
  • A strong work ethic is required to help drive the team forward and push for technology-based solutions.
  • Demonstrable organizational skills
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload and judge priority and urgency of requests and issues
