Job description 1

Kew Green Hotels / Holiday Inn Rugby-Northampton is presenting an opportunity for a candidate to enrol in a Line Chef Apprenticeship as part of their job application. In this role, you will be responsible for producing all menu items efficiently and consistently while following company specifications and always adhering to Health & Food Safety requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Supporting your kitchen team, you will be responsible for delivering an efficient, effective and profitable kitchen service, with a primary focus on a key assigned area of responsibility and ensuring brand standards are met. As part of the apprenticeship program, you will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Kitchen Manager.

Tasks could include but are not limited to:

Supporting your Kitchen Manager in ensuring that all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations are adhered to and that audits are successfully passed.

Preparing food items by using the required methods.

Cooking food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

Maintaining cleanliness and complying with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

Managing wastage through correct product measurement.

Ensuring you are always working towards all kitchen SOPs.

Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

To become an apprentice, you must:

be 16 or over

not already be in full-time education

As an apprentice you’ll:

Have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace

Learn and train for a specific job

Get paid and receive holiday leave

Get hands-on experience in a real job

Study for at least 20% of your working hours

Complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
