Job Summary:

We are seeking Graduates to join our team as project engineers. You will own all aspects of a series of new product introduction projects, tracking and coordinating all aspects, from enquiry stage through to completion. The successful candidate will be highly organized, have a desire to learn in a project management role, and be able to work in a multidisciplinary team to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop project plans, including scope, costs, schedule, and resource allocation.

Communicate project status and updates to customers & stakeholders, including senior management.

Take ownership of project activities with cross-functional teams, including Product Engineering / Applications Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Sales.

Manage project risks and develop contingency plans.

Ensure projects are completed within scope, on time, and within budget.

Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts ownership / responsibility.

Manage project documentation and maintain accurate records.

Education:

Masters/Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject accredited by IMechE.

Desirable Experience/Skills:

Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and issues.

Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and promote collaboration.

Proficiency in project management tools and software, including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD experience in software such as Solidworks would be desirable.

Familiarity with quality management systems, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100, is desired.

Passionate about engineering and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Conflict Resolution and Negotiation – being able to navigate conflicts constructively, find mutually beneficial solutions, and resolve disputes.

Day to day tasks:

Liaising with functional teams to determine project lead time estimates for special projects at the enquiry stage prior to quotation.

Generating and updating project plans, identifying, and communicating critical path. Managing risk mitigation plans.

Providing frequent and regular status updates to stakeholders to ensure adherence to the project plan and where necessary timely feedback to the end customer.

Facilitating meetings with cross-functional teams.

Tracking of true project costs to feedback into the costing process, capture of the unexpected costs not originally anticipated.

Project close out reports.
