The Role:

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Sous Chef to join a hotel, who will report directly to the Senior Chefs.

This is a full time, permanent contract, working 48 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days.

We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef, who is dedicated, hardworking, polite with strong leadership skills.

An individual who possesses excellent communication skills with strong spoken and written English skills.

To effectively manage the junior chefs in the kitchen team

Take charge of a whole section and deputize for the Senior Sous & Head Chef.

Help to train and develop a team of up to 14 chefs, to ensure the standards are always achieved and that procedures are followed to operate a successful kitchen.

Maintain the food hygiene regulations and within the unit budget.

The ideal candidate:

Must have great attention to detail.

Experienced working with fresh seasonal ingredients.

A team player who is happy to get stuck in and help the rest of the team.

A passion for food and producing the best plates for guests.

A 4* Hotel background or AA Rosette experience is ideal but not essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To help plan, cost & produce suitable menus for the Hotel.

To be responsible for achieving the food cost of sales budget.

To order food items for section & minimise any wastage.

To assist with regular stock taking.

To oversee the cleaning rota for the kitchen and ensure that the standards are met and always maintained.

To carry out reports and duties as required by the head chef.

To discuss operational ideas, customer feedback and constantly look at ways to improve the food offering & service.

To ensure daily and weekly checklists are used and completed on a regular basis.

To abide by Health and Safety Regulations as required by Law.
