Seeks to recruit 1 or 2 Legal Intern (s) (Educational & Practice-focused):

Location: Bromley, BR1

ONLY BPTC, LPC and SQE2 candidates will be shortlisted for an interview.

Applicants must have:

·

An avid interest in Landlord and Tenant Law, Real Estate & Property Law, Dispute Resolution and Litigation, Commercial Law, Intellectual Property and Private Client.

·

Excellent English- both written and spoken.

Internship period: 6- month educational internship

Part-time attendance: 3 days per week.

Reimbursement of travel costs, and lunch ; We do not pay a stipend or salary during the educational internship.

THIS IS AN EDUCATIONAL SCHEME INTENDED TO BRIDGE THE THEORY OF THE LPC/BPTC WITH THE PRACTICAL ELEMENTS OF LEGAL PRACTICE .

Our tailor-made, in-house curriculum for the educational internship will include putting into practice the following theories/principles learnt from the BPTC & LPC:

·

Carrying out legal , deep-dive research & fact management for the firm’s In- House Counsel & Senior Practitioners – for skills in Opinion writing & Analysis of Merits and Prospects

·

Reviewing and analysing legal documentation – for Client case-conferencing skills & Legal advisory skills.

·

Assisting with drafting legal and other documents (in transactional, ADR & contentious matters)- Drafting & Written Advocacy skills.

·

Assisting with the preparation of materials for training, webinars and seminars – to develop Public-speaking and Advocacy skills.

·

Dealing with and resolving general and legal enquiries from the public – for Client Care and Interpersonal skills.

·

Participating in team meetings and training events- for Team Building and Intercollegiate skills.

·

Providing general assistance to the legal team as and when required- for Team building and Character-development skills.

·

Assisting with blogging, tweeting; and legal journalistic writing for HCL’s widely circulated Newsletter; as well as updating the firm’s legal know-how page on the internet- for honing Business Development and Writing skills.

Assisting with Business Development strategies – for honing Business Development and Professional Networking skills.

Candidate to be enthusiastic; self-motivated and be able to think on their feet. We are happy to offer this role to someone who wants top-tier and practical legal experience in the field midway through or after their studies.

– Just so you know, the interview is scheduled for circa. 90 minutes. It will consist of:

- a 30-minute competency-based assessment which will be followed by

-a 40-minute discussion of your submitted work from our case-study materials.

- the interview will end with a 40-minute panel discussion of your CV & extra-curricular activities.
