We are looking for officers of the future – could that be you?

Our work protects consumers from rogues and unsafe products, and supports businesses to get it right first time. This can include -? Advising businesses how to comply with the law? Investigating complaints? Sampling consumer goods? Visiting business premises such as shops, restaurants, warehouses and farms? Disrupting rogue traders? Compiling reports for criminal prosecution

The work can be challenging at times but is both varied and rewarding.

We’re looking for someone with enthusiasm and a commitment to learn. You will need great communication and organisational skills and to be a team player, but also able to work independently.

In return we offer a friendly, supportive environment, working with experienced officers to help you achieve a professional qualification. The positions include funding and support to achieve the Level 6 Trading Standards Professional apprenticeship, including

six hours a week training or studying.
