Responsibilities As Graduate Finance Assistant

Collections and Customer Relations

* Communicate with customers to follow up on overdue accounts and arrange payment plans if necessary.

* Send out customer statements

* Maintain positive relationships with customers while ensuring timely collection of receivables.

* Escalate unresolved payment issues to senior finance team members as required.

Prepayments Management & Accruals Management

* Process and record prepayments accurately in the financial system.

* Monitor and reconcile prepayment accounts to ensure proper allocation of expenses.

* Assist in the preparation of monthly prepayment schedules and reports.

* Assist in the identification and recording of accruals at month-end.

* Ensure all accruals are accurately reflected in the financial statements.

* Prepare and maintain accrual schedules and supporting documentation.

Reconciliation and Reporting

* Perform regular reconciliations of accounts receivable, bank, prepayment and accrual accounts.

* Reconcile customer accounts, ensuring that all payments are accurately recorded.

* Reconcile customer receipts and supplier payments to bank on weekly and monthly basis.

* Investigate and resolve discrepancies between customer accounts and financial records.

* Assist in preparing reports on accounts receivable status and aging.

* Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

* Support the finance team in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Month-End and Year-End Close

* Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.

* Ensure all prepayments and accruals are correctly recorded and reconciled.

* Prepare and post journal entries related to prepayments and accruals.

Skills and Knowledge

* Excel in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, turning data into actionable insights.

* Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with clarity and confidence.

* Relevant finance or accounting qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) are a plus
