Due to an exciting period of growth, we are now seeking an experienced, senior-level Industrial Manufacturing Engineer to join our thriving team here on the Isle of Wight!Based at our East Cowes site, and reporting into the Head of Facilities, Maintenance & Industrialisation, we are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Industrial Engineering team based out of our East Cowes site on the Isle of Wight. The Manufacturing Engineer will work across both our Civil and Defence business lines with ad-hoc travel required nationally to visit our other GKN Sites and suppliers.The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will provide Manufacturing Engineering capability to operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. The successful incumbent will also be accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly.Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.Creating technical solutions to problems within GKN Aerospace.Providing technical input for manufacturing process development and integration for production.Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.Industrial EngineeringActively participate in industrial engineering of manufacturing development and integration for production through:The design of industrial layout solutions, from original concept through to production. Obtain new product quotes and manufacturing system change proposalsTo help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:Technical experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with a professional qualification (university degree) and/or background in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical)Demonstrable experience of working within a global technical community with an understanding of the interface with broader business functionsAwareness of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000Project / Program Management ExperienceAbility to conduct a root cause analysisThe Manufacturing Engineer will have strong communication skills with a desire to develop and grow within the businessIndustry Leading Pension Scheme = we’ll match your contributions up to 8% on a 1 : 1.Life Assurance 8 x salary
