Early Years Educator Apprentice

Daily support in the breakfast & after school club and assistance in supporting staff & children in nursery setting.

Main responsibilities will include:

Planning a weekly programme of activities

Setting up the play area

Assisting with the collection of children from school and walking them back to the community centre

Supporting the children in play and also with cleaning and tidying resources.Shifts – Mon to Fri 8am to 6pm.

Training

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Moss Side Village Playgroup will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours

Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid

Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)This will be delivered through Moss Side Village Playgroup dedicated training provider, Realise.

Qualifications required

A level 2 qualification in early years – desirable, or willingness to attend a 6 week accelerated programme.

A level 2 or equivalent in maths and English – preferable

Skills required

Passion for Early Years childcare

Must have an empathy to children

Team worker.

Able to follow instructions.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Prospects

Full time position on completion of apprenticeship.
