Apprentice Business Administrator

As

a Business Administrator Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in supporting

the day-to-day operations of The Big Food Project. You will be responsible for

developing and maintaining effective business systems, creating insightful

management information systems, and supporting various teams across the

organisation. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, eager to learn,

and has a passion for data-driven decision-making.

Salary:

£13.500

Full-time, Apprenticeship and Blackpool based with remote

working possibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Management and Analysis

– Develop and maintain business systems in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to manage large datasets from diverse sources

– Model data into meaningful management information systems to support strategic decision-making

– Continuously improve data processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration

– Work closely with different teams and functions across the organisation to understand their needs and effect productive change

– Assist in the development, roll-out, monitoring, and continuous improvement of outreach methods

– Act as a liaison between departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination

3. Reporting and Documentation

– Prepare ad hoc and regular reports for the management team, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis

– Maintain accurate records and documentation to support business operations

– Contribute to the development of business

strategies by providing timely and relevant information

4. General Administration

– Provide administrative support to the Growth

& Change Team as required, including scheduling meetings, making notes to

capture key action points, managing communications, and maintaining files

– Assist in organising events, workshops, and

other initiatives that support the organisation’s mission

– Ensure that all administrative processes are

efficient, effective, and aligned with organisational goals

– Work closely with different teams and

functions across the organisation to understand their needs and effect

Training

STANDARD & LEVEL

The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 3 Business Administration Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education. Delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College offering expert tuition and exceptional facilities.

Personalised programme

Your B&FC apprenticeship is made up of several different elements and each one reflects your individual abilities and career goals. Our expert tutors and assessors have relevant industry experience and will support you to achieve all your goals.

Off-the-job training

Developing your skills at work is called on-the-job training, 20% of your apprenticeship (equal to one full day a week) will be ‘off-the-job’. This might include attending College, tackling projects, online learning, coaching, shadowing, or training for your job.

Stacks of support

Assessment mostly takes place in the workplace. When you start, you will be allocated a skills coach, who will visit you at least once a month to guide and support you and help you to plan for your future. We will also provide you with specialist support for your English and maths and for any additional needs that you make us aware of.

Qualifications required

Level 3 a minimum of English and maths grades A*- C (9-4) (or equivalent) are

desirable OR willingness to complete Functional Skills Level 2 are a requirement

to have or to achieve before EPA Gateway.

Skills required

– Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar data management

and analysis tools

– Strong analytical skills with the ability to model and

interpret large datasets

– Excellent organisational and time management skills

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team

– Ability to contribute to various functions and adapt to

changing priorities
