Fresh Direct – A Sysco Company, are now recruiting a to join the Central Finance team on a full time, permanent basis.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager this is a key role that will provide business partnering support to Central Cost areas within the Fresh Direct business, as well as being a primary point of contact for the Sysco GB Tax team. You will focus on execution and continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting whilst providing insight and adding value across the team.

Sysco has an exciting 5-year growth strategy plan involving some large-scale transformation programmes and projects, so this is a perfect role and business for someone who enjoys working with senior stakeholders whilst also looking to gain exposure and experience in a commercial finance setting.

This is a home-based role, however you will be required to attend the Ashford, Kent office once or twice per month for team collaboration and meetings, so flexibility is required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Central Departments Month End process
  • Business Partnering, Cost Control and Forecasting for the Business Technology area, including utilising Workday as the businesses planning tool
  • Management of Establishment Costs
  • Reporting into Group Consolidation System (BPC)
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations via Cadency Trintech tool
  • Monthly VAT return preparation
  • Ad-hoc bank payments
  • Annual PAYE Settlement Agreement preparation
  • External & Internal Audit support
  • Annual Statutory Accounts and Corporation Tax support
  • Ad hoc project support in a Transformational environment

You will be either; AAT Level 4 qualified; part qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA); or hold a Finance / Accounting degree or equivalent, looking to start studying or continue studying towards your CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification using our apprenticeship scheme.

We are looking for someone who holds strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly understand and interpret complex information. You will have strong communication skills with colleagues at all levels and be able to clearly explain financial matters to colleagues across the business. Excellent attention to detail is required as well as the ability to identify resolutions to issues that arise. Experience with VAT returns, tax queries and month end reconciliation is preferred. Flexibility to travel to Ashford, Kent each month is essential.
