ConsistencyEmpowering Learning is recruiting Psychology & Sociology Graduates to work full-time as Learning Support Assistants within mainstream schools across Barking and Dagenham. You will support pupils with various SEND needs, primarily teaching positive behaviour approaches.

Students with SEND who attend mainstream schools typically have mild ASD and SEMH needs.

This position will provide valuable classroom-based experience working as a 1:1 support assistant, which is beneficial for anyone considering a future in teaching.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and hands-on individual who can take direction and lead when necessary.

Job Responsibilities

Supporting pupils with SEN including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties.

Supervising pupil’s behaviour

Encourage and support the pupils learning and development

Support social interaction

Team Teach TrainingJob Requirements

Experience supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities is desirable

Ability to stay calm and de-escalate challenging behaviour
